PART 1 – Information about the University
University of Radom is a Polish non-public university. The mission of the University of Radom is to systematically enrich the field of higher education by improving the quality of the teaching process and ensuring a high standard of classes through modern and practice-oriented teaching methods. These include individual and group work under the supervision of academic tutors, as well as applied research focused on current challenges in healthcare and nursing education.
The University of Radom is a specialised higher education institution offering education in a single field of study: Nursing. The University focuses on providing high-quality education aligned with national and European standards for nursing education and professional practice.

Accommodation
The University of Radom does not have its own student dormitories. Incoming students may use private accommodation options available in Radom and the surrounding area.
For short-term mobility, students are advised to use platforms such as www.booking.com or similar accommodation services.
For long-term stays, students are encouraged to consult the Institutional Erasmus Coordinator of the University of Radom for guidance and verified accommodation options.

Helth Insurance
Health insurance is mandatory for all students for the entire duration of their stay in Poland.

Students from non-EU/EEA countries should purchase health insurance in their home country or immediately after arrival in Poland. Otherwise, they will be required to cover the costs of any medical services.
Students are also advised to purchase accident insurance and third-party liability insurance.
EU/EEA students
EU/EEA students are entitled to free healthcare in Poland if they present a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
Students who do not have insurance in their home country may sign an agreement with the Polish National Health Fund (NFZ) and obtain insurance for approximately PLN 55 per month (2025 rate).
Non-EU/EEA students
Non-EU/EEA students may sign an insurance agreement with the NFZ after arrival in Poland.
Private health insurance policies are also widely available.

Visa and Residence Permit
Students from non-EU/EEA countries must apply for a student visa at a Polish Embassy or Consulate in their home country before arrival in Poland.
Student visas are usually granted for up to 90 days. Students planning a longer stay must apply for a temporary residence permit at the appropriate Voivodeship Office in Poland.
The application for a residence permit should be submitted no later than 45 days before the visa expires.

Mobile Phones
Prepaid SIM cards are widely available from Polish mobile operators such as Play, Orange, Plus and T-Mobile.
A starter pack costs approximately PLN 5–10 (≈ 1–2 EUR).
Since 2016, all SIM cards in Poland must be registered with a valid ID. Registration can be completed at the operator’s office or partner shops (e.g. Żabka).
Money and Currency Exchange
The official currency in Poland is the Polish złoty (PLN).

1 EUR ≈ 4.20–4.30 PLN
Currency exchange offices (kantor) are available in city centres. Exchange rates at airports are usually less favourable. It is recommended to exchange only a small amount upon arrival and use local exchange offices or electronic payment services.
The use of Revolut or similar financial services is strongly recommended for currency exchange and everyday payments.
Cost of Living in Radom
Poland is generally less expensive than many Western European countries. Radom offers a relatively low cost of living compared to larger academic cities.
